Message-Id: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII On Friday, I'll be switching the default news server for the alfred1.u newsreaders to be nntp2.u.washington.edu instead of nntp1.u.washington.edu. The affected newsreaders will be: Pine trn nn xrn The dnntp daemon has been in limited testing for a couple of weeks, and this change will increase the amount of use it is given. It is possible that alfred users will see some unexpected behavior or changes in the error messages which they might expect to see. If you field any questions on newsreading, please CC me if the message origin is from alfred. The amount of news reading done with clients running on alfred is actually quite small, perhaps 1% of the total connections to the the news servers. -- Steven Jones Computing & Communications JE-30, University of Washington E-mail: noyd@cac.washington.edu Phone: (206) 543-5852 .
