One position, in Dr. Larry Schwartz's laboratory, will focus on functional analyses of novel cell death-associated genes initially identified in the tobacco hawkmoth, Manduca sexta. The other position, in Dr. John Nambu's laboratory, will focus on analysis of the regulation, execution, and resolution of programmed cell death during development of the embryonic CNS midline cells. Both positions are part of an nascent collaboration between these two laboratories (e.g. Zhou et al., 1996, Current Biology 5: 784) and will involve significant interactions with both labs. For more information, please contact: John Nambu (jnambu@bio.umass.edu) or Larry Schwartz (schwartz@bio.umass.edu).
