I'm not sure why, and it isn't really a big deal, but I >thought you might like to know in case the problem is at your end. Thanks. > Sorry about this. It is a known bug in Netscape 4.X, unfortunately, and given that Netscape has virtually abandoned the struggle it will probably never be fixed. Netscape 3.X or earlier is OK, and Netscape 6 is apparently OK as well, though I haven't checked it out too thoroughly as there were too many other things I disliked about it, so I dumped it not long after installing it. I certainly wouldn't suggest you adjust your browser just to look at my page (it isn't THAT great, despite Mr Valev's recommendation), but with increasing use of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) on the web there are likely to be more and more sites that crash Netscape if you don't. What you need to do is the following: Select "Preferences*" in the "Modify*" menu Select "Advanced*" (near the bottom of the dialogue box) Uncheck "Activate style sheets*" (fifth item in the dialogue box) Select "OK" (*As my Netscape is in French I've translated back to English, so the wording may not correspond exactly with what yours says). As I say, you won't want to do this just to look at my page, but it should help with a lot of other sites as well. It shouldn't do any harm: when Netscape 4.X does manage to interpret CSS without crashing it typically does such an awful job of it that you're better off without. athel -- Athel Cornish-Bowden athel@ibsm.cnrs-mrs.fr http://bip.cnrs-mrs.fr/bip10/homepage.htm (changed 23 May 2001) Phone: + 33 491 16 41 38; fax: + 33 491 16 45 78 CNRS-BIP, B.P. 71, 13402 Marseille Cedex 20, France --- .
