Research Assistant Position Available
Savage-Dunn laboratory

A Research Assistant position is available in my laboratory in the
Department of Biology, Queens College, New York. Our research focuses
on the molecular genetics of cell signaling pathways, using the
nematode C. elegans as a model system. The research involves a variety
of procedures including PCR amplification, plasmid subcloning, and
other molecular biological techniques, generation of transgenic
nematodes, and genetic mapping. The specific research project will
depend, in part, on the experience and interests of the candidate.
Additional duties will include media preparation, maintenance of
nematode stock collections, and other aspects of laboratory
management. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in biology or
related science. Some previous laboratory experience is desirable,
particularly in molecular biology or C. elegans research. Salary will
be $20-26K, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
