"Parasitic Helminths from Genomes to Vaccines" is intended to fill an important gap in the current round of regular conferences. There have been recent major advances in helminth research in the fields of gene discovery, biochemistry and physiology (e.g. neurobiology and receptors), and the immunology of host-parasite interactions. The value of a helminth-specific meeting (rather than a general parasitology meeting such as Woods Hole) has been demonstrated by recent Keystone symposia on Molecular Helminthology. This meeting hopes to make such helminth-specific gatherings more frequent and more accessible, especially at the student and postdoc levels. The programme will accomodate some 48 presentations, together with 4 invited keynote lectures, and two poster sessions. The presentations, divided between genome research, biochemistry and immunology, will be selected from submitted abstracts. Deadlines =46or registration and submission of abstracts 30th June 1997 =46or bursary requests 30th June 1997 Registration after the deadline will be =A3150 (accommodation cannot be guaranteed for late registrants) =46urther Information Information on the meeting is updated regularly on the World Wide Web at http://helios.bto.ed.ac.uk/mbx/blaxter/PHfG2V/ParasiticHelminths.html All conference enquiries should be addressed to registration forms should be requested from marnie.ferguson@ed.ac.uk or by mail/phone/fax from Parasitic Helminths Conference UnivEd Technologies Limited, UnivEd Training and Conference Centre, 11 South College Street, Edinburgh EH8 9AA, Scotland UK Tel: +44 (0)131 650 9020 Fax: +44 (0)131 650 9019 ________________________________________________ Dr. Mark Blaxter email Mark.Blaxter@ed.ac.uk Institute of Cell, Animal and Population Biology Ashworth Laboratories, King's Buildings University of Edinburgh, West Mains Road EDINBURGH EH9 3JT, United Kingdom phone: (+44) 131 650 6760 Fax :...650 5450 see http://helios.bto.ed.ac.uk/mbx/fgn/blaxter/blaxlab.html .
