Knowledge of enzymology, enzyme kinetics and protein-protein interactions and/or an interest in parasitology would be welcomed. The candidate will be integrated in a multidisciplinary team studying various aspects of trypanosome carbohydrate metabolism and glycosome biogenesis. Glycosomes are unique peroxisome-like organelles in trypanosomatids, which have as major function carbohydrate metabolism. The candidate will identify and characterize already known proteins as well as discover novel gene products involved in glycosome functioning. He or she will support other members of the team with his or her expertise in the study of proteins.
