There will be a teaching workshop at the 1997 C. elegans meeting on Fri. 5/30
at 3 PM (room to be announced).  This workshop should more accurately be called
a teaching careers workshop.  There was considerable interest at the 1995
Meeting about what a job at a predominantly undergraduate institution (PUI) is
like and about how one goes about getting a job at a PUI.  This year's workshop
will be a panel discussion featuring four faculty members from PUIs: 

Beth DeStasio (Lawrence University, WI)
Glenn White (Ashland University, OH)
Leilani Miller (Santa Clara University, CA)
Jacob Varkey (Humboldt State University, CA)

	After a brief introduction, the panelists will take questions
from the audience.  This should provide an excellent opportunity for graduate
students and postdocs to get the inside story about life at PUIs.  I encourage
all of you who are thinking about a career that emphasizes teaching and all of
you who are interested in teaching to attend.  Hope to see you there!
