The Americans plot it the other way up. Isn't it about time we had some kind of international convention? It may sound trivial to some of you. So what, I hear you say, as long as it is clearly labelled who cares. Well imagine looking at the clock and finding out that it runs anti(counter)clockwise. Pretty confusing! It certainly plays havoc with my visual memory. I can visualize a figure but can't remember which way up it was plotted. Audiences at talks also get confused.
