The Center is the leading US multidisciplinary institution in the area of physics and chemistry of biological molecules and biological nanostructures. The subject of a current project is the study of mechanisms of electron and energy transfer in proteins. Successful applicants will use state-of- the-art equipment for study of light energy conversion in chromophores and proteins, protein structure, protein membrane interaction. Applicants must have experience in gene cloning and site-directed modification, protein expression, purification, and biochemical characterization. Knowledge in fluorescence spectroscopic and electron microscopic techniques is desired. The positions sponsored by the National Research Consul are available for two years with a possibility of transition to permanent status after a successful post-doctoral tenure. Starting salary is $55 K/yr plus exceptional benefits. To be considered you must be a US citizen or current permanent resident and have a Ph.D. received within the last 5 years.
