Our current strengths include molecular, genetic and neurobiological approaches to the study of the development of model organisms, including C. elegans, Drosophila and mice. Qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D., at least two years of postdoctoral experience and a proven record of excellence in research. The selected candidate is expected to compete successfully for salary support and establishment funding from the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research and/or the Medical Research Council of Canada; we anticipate that generous start up funds will be available to a qualified candidate. While duties include some teaching and graduate student supervision, 75% of time will be protected for research. Calgary is a beautiful and vibrant city (pop. 800,000), located within an hour of the Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park.
