I received many replies, some of which suggested using the mutagen MMS as an alternative. I have posted some of these, and a short compendium of other (hopefully useful) information, at the following URL: http://deficiency.lscf.ucsb.edu/int.html Thanks to all who replied. If you would like to suggest corrections or additions to this web page, please let me know. [As an aside, I was able to integrate 3/3 lines (0.7% frequency) using a gamma cell at UCLA (thanks to Arnaud Labrousse for the help!).] Regards, Morris Morris Maduro Department of MCD Biology Biological Sciences II UC Santa Barbara Santa Barbara, CA 93106 lab: (805) 893-8090 fax: (805) 893-2005 .
