JAVA (Jandel Scientific) does a good job of this. I have worked with it for the last four years and had no real problems other than some minor glitches. It's difficult to work with home brewn software since speed is a factor in image analysis. Even with a 486 PC it takes about 2 mins. to analyze a complete image (198,k byte), and another couple of mins. to process it. You may be able to get a earlier version of JAVA from somebody as they have updated there software to MOCHA. The earlier version (JAVA 1.3/1.4) does the same job. The big bucks are going to go on the TARGA frame grabber board.(1K atleast for a 16 bit). Kaushik Nag. Biochemistry, MUN. .
