Dear drosopholists,

I wish to isolate nuclei from small numbers of embryos. Even the "small"
nuclear prep listed in D.mel: Practical Uses in Cell and Molecular Biology
calls for 1 gram of embryos  (1 embryo is 9.5=B5g). I would like to make
nuclear extracts from a transgenic line so I need a protocol for isolating
nuclei from about 200-500 embryos (I can't set up a population cage).  Any
advice will be appreciated. You can either post responses or send them to
me.
