I have been unable to find descriptions of the ecology of D. melanogaster
in the literature.  There are scores of articles describing the 
ecology of other (more exotic) Drosophila species, but there seems to be
a dearth of reports on the ecology of natural populations of       
D. melanogaster.  I am specifically interested in habitat preference.  
If you are aware of any such articles, please email me the references.
