The conference will take place April 27-28, 2001 in Fort Lauderdale, USA prior to the 2001 ARVO Annual Meeting. Oral presentations will be by invited speakers but non-speaker participants may present their data in poster sessions. Abstracts for posters should be submitted no later than February 16, 2001. The conference will attempt to summarize underlying genetic defects and illustrate the usefulness of animal models in understanding mechanisms that lead to retinopathy. Session topics will include: Transgenic rodent models; Knockout rodent models; Novel approaches for analysis of animal models; Retinal transplantation in animal models; Invertebrate animal models; Naturally occurring vertebrate models; Retinal degeneration in zebrafish; Rescue by somatic gene therapy. For full details of the conference including the oral program, registration information and guidelines on how to submit an abstract please visit the conference website at http://www.elsevier.com/locate/vision2001 or contact sm.wilkinson@elsevier.co.uk for a copy of the program and registration brochure. .
