The Biophysical Society is proud to announce the Society Awards Winners for the year 2000.  Stephen Harvey, of the University of Alabama, Birmingham, chaired the Awards Committee, which included Steve Boxer, Ken Dill, Ron McElhaney, Clara Franzini-Armstrong, Jon King, and Chris Miller. 

Helen Berman, Distinguished Service Award for service in the field of biophysics.
Carolyn Cohen, Elisabeth Roberts Cole Award for outstanding achievement in biophysics.
Elizabeth Komives, Michael and Kate Bárány Award for Young Investigators for outstanding contribution to biophysics by a person who has not yet achieved the rank of full professor.
Charles Cantor and Paul Schimmel, The Emily Gray Award for significant contributions to education in biophysics.
