The affiliate stations carry the Pacifica National News, all other Pacifica National Programming, and some other programs from the Pacifica Stations and Pacifica Archives. The subscriber stations carry the Pacifica National News, and they decide whether or not to carry other Pacifica programming on a case-by-case basis. *KPFA-FM 94.1, 59,000 watts, transmitter on Grizzly Peak, Berkeley KPFB-FM 89.3, 150 watts, transmitter on roof of KPFA offices, Berkeley Weekly cumulative audience: 136,700 Subscribers (1993): 18.569 Operating revenue (FY 1993): $2,018,610 Chair of Advisory Board: David Assmann KPFB simulcasts most KPFA programming to reach areas of the Berkeley hills that are shielded from the KPFA transmitter. It departs from KPFA programming to broadcast meetings of the Berkeley City Council and School Board and to present programming by apprentices practicing their radio skills. For example, Pacifica provided gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Congressional debate on NAFTA, the Senate Hearings on Lesbians and Gays in the Military, and confirmation hearings on Supreme Court nominees, as well as special reports on such events as the U.S. intervention in Somalia, the LAPD-Rodney King verdicts, the Lani Guinier nomination, and the release of the final Iran-Contra Report. *The Pacifica Radio Archive The Archive preserves over 40,000 tapes from Pacifica and independent producers for distribution to all of public radio. Recognized by the National Archives for its unique holdings and its accessability to users, the Archive also sells outstanding programming on cassettes to schools, libraries and individuals. *Pacifica's legal counsel is John Crigler of Haley, Bader and Potts. Pacifica's public accountants are Getz, Krycler and Jakubovits. *KFCF in Fresno, owned by the Fresno Free College Foundation, simulcasts much of KPFA's programming, but it breaks away at various times to carry its own local programming.
