This InfoSite  is the result of the March 27, 1995 meeting of the 
Task Force on Federal Legislation.  This Task Force is chaired by 
the Director of the Department of Human Services, Christy Ferguson,
and is intended to help Rhode Islanders keep up to date with proposed
changes in federal legislation, particularly those changes which affect
health, social, and educational programs in Rhode Island.  
At the first meeting of the Task Force on March 25,  Director Ferguson 
talked about the value of this forum to keep people updated on
the Medicaid Block Grant proposal.  
Barbara Weaver and Christy noted that a site on the OSFN would also 
be a good vehicle to disseminate information about the proposed Medicaid
block grant and its potential impact on Rhode Island.
Matt Reidy works for Christy in DHS and will update news on the proposed 
Medicaid block grant in the "What's New" section.  
If you have any questions or comments on the Medicaid block grant, you can
present them and Matt will try to respond on a weekly basis.
