What's New at the Chronic Fatigue/Immune Dysfunction Syndrome Forum ?


Well, everything at this site is pretty new. This site was set up in
mid-November and has been growing bit-by-bit since then.

New information is being added every few days or so as I find it or hear about
it. So stop by periodically to see what has been added. 

I will specify here what new information has been added to this site and 
how it can be accessed. In this way you can find what new things have
been added without having to look thru everything.

If there is any information that you would like to see included in the
CFIDS area or if you know of any information that you feel would be
helpful to other PWC's, please email me at aa128.

and the CFIDS Discussion Group.

  - Added new information on "Basic Meditation" and "On Counseling" to the
    "CFIDS Treatment Information" area.

    Treatment Information" area.

  - Added new information on "Discussion Lists and Penpal Information for
    YPWC" to the "Issues Concerning Young People with CFIDS" menu selection.
    YPWC can exchange letters or email with other young people who have CFIDS
    or other health challenges.

  - Added a link to Roger Burns' M.E. and FM Manual web site to the "CFIDS
    Web Sites" area. This site gives the table of contents for this annual
    newsletter and ordering instructions. There are also links to other
    web sites and email addresses.

    books" area accessed through the "Other CFIDS-related Information"
    selection.

    Associated with CFIDS" area. Access this web site from the "Other 
    CFIDS-related Information" selection.

  - A link to a web page on the Social Security Administration has been added
    to the "Disability/Employment Information" section. This web page
    indicates what information the SSA needs from your doctor to show evidence
    of CFS when you make a claim for disability benefits.

 - Added a link to the alt.med.fibromyalgia newsgroup via Deja News, the
   newsgroup search engine. This newsgroup can be accessed thru the 
   "Other CFIDS-related Information" selection.

 - Added new information on caregiver issues "Keeping the Caregiver
   Afloat" to the "Living with CFIDS" section.

 - Added a new web site to the "CFIDS Web Sites" area: Yahoo! page for CFS 
   with a search capability and links to CFS web sites.

 - Added a new web site to the "Illnesses Associated with CFIDS" area: 
   Yahoo! page for various Diseases and Conditions with a search capability
   and links to web sites for those diseases and conditions. Access this
   new web site from the "Other CFIDS-related Information" selection.

 - Added a new web site to the "Issues Concerning Young People with CFIDS"
   section: the CFS-Y (Youth) Home Page. It still seems to be under 
   construction at this time, but if you follow the "Meet Us" link and the
   "Directory" link, there is a list of about 30 young people with CFIDS.
   Short biographies with email addresses and home pages are given.

 - Added two new web sites to the "CFIDS Web Sites" area: Marc Fluks of  
   the Netherlands has one of the most extensive CFS areas on the internet;
   Melissa Kaplan's CFIDS web page also has many links.

 - Information on CFIDS-related books has been added to the "Other CFIDS-
   related Information" section.

 - The "What's New" area has been set up to specify new information that has
   been added to the CFIDS area and how to access it.

 - A new section on illnesses associated with CFIDS has been added to
   the "Other CFIDS-related Information" section. Links to information
   on Rheumatology, Environmental and Preventive Medicine,  Lyme Disease,
   and Endometriosis have been included.

 - A new link to a web site on Social Security Regulations has been added
   to the "Disability/Employment Information" section. This web site
   gives information on filing for Social Security Disability Insurance
   benefits and rules and procedures relating to SSDI.
