Aids children having difficulty adapting to school life and where
individualized professional help is indicated. Counsels children,
consults with parents and school personnel, arranges for medical
and other examinations, attempts to alter attitudes of parents or
teachers, recommends changes of school, class or program, serves
as liaison with community resources and as consultant to school
personnel.

RECIPROCITY:      VariesEDUCATION AND     Three-year provisional certificate:
   EXPERIENCE:      Bachelor's degree from a school approved by
                    the State Board of Regents.
                    Master's degree in social work from a school
                    accredited by the
                    Council on Social Work Education.
                    Licensed as social worker by R.I. State Board
                    of Registration for Social Workers.
                  Life certification:
                    In addition to the requirements for the
                  provisional certificate, three years experience
                    as a school social worker in Rhode Island.

RENEWAL:          Based on education and experience above.
