RECIPROCITY:      VariesEDUCATION AND     Three-year provisional certificate 
   EXPERIENCE:    (non-renewable): 
                    Hold bachelor's degree from an approved
                    institution.
                    Have an advanced degree in an approved
                    program in school counseling or a master's
                    degree from an accredited institution and
                    completed 24 hours of graduate course work
                    in school counseling.
                    Be eligible for a Rhode Island teacher's
                    certificate, and have two years of teaching
                    experience.
                  Five-year professional certificate (renewable):
                    Meet requirements for provisional certificate
                    and complete of six graduate credits.
                    Three years experience as school counselor in
                    Rhode Island.  
                  Life professional certificate:
                    Hold a doctorate degree or certificate of
                    advanced graduate study from an accredited
                    institution and six years experience as a
                    school counselor.R.I. EXAMINATION: None

RENEWAL:          Based on education and experience above.
