PUMP INSTALLER or WELL-DRILL OPERATOR (drinking water wells)

Well-drill operators use one or more of several tools or machines
to dig or drill wells to obtain ground water for drinking and
other household use. Pump installers install and adjust pumps
which force water from such wells.


AGE:              16 years or older

CITIZENSHIP:      No requirement

RESIDENCY:        No requirement

RECIPROCITY:      No EDUCATION AND     Submit certificate of liability insurance
   EXPERIENCE:    providing coverage in the aggregate of at least
                  $300,000 (body) and $100,000 (property).
                  Submit proof of financial resources adequate to
                  own and maintain necessary tools and machines.

R.I. EXAMINATION: Pass written examination or provide evidence of
                  having passed such an examination. Firms/
                  individuals operating in 1990 are allowed up to
                  four renewals of their original registration
                  before having to meet the examination           
                  requirements.

NOTES:            Plumber with master license may perform work
                  pursuant to such license, for example pump
                  installation, without a DEM registration.
                  Separate license is required for each of these
                  categories: cable tool; air rotary; mud rotary; 
                  driving and jetting;  boring and auger.
                  May register as a company or an individual.RENEWAL:          Annual
