LEAD HAZARD REDUCTION CONTRACTOR

Responsible for overall planning implementation of lead hazard
reduction activities in accordance with the Rhode Island Rules
and Regulations for Lead Poisoning Prevention [R23-24.6-PB]. 
Contractors may also employ licensed Lead Hazard Reduction Site
Supervisors, Workers and Workers-in-Training to assist with these
activities.  

AGE:            None specified by RI statue or regulation. 
                However, OSHA regulations and experience
                requirements would effectively eliminate anyone
                under 18 years of age.

EDUCATION AND   Successful completion of 40 hour RI approved 
   EXPERIENCE:    Lead Contractor/Site Supervisor course;
                High school diploma/GED, or at least three years 
                  experience in lead hazard reduction, asbestos
                  abatement, and/or the building trades; and
                Valid certificate of registration as a
                  "builder" issued by the Rhode Island Building
                  Contractors' Registration Board pursuant to
                  title 5, Chapter 65 of the General Laws of
                  R.I., 1956, as amended, and the Administrative
                  Regulations and Construction Standards of the
                  Rhode Island Building Contractors' Registration
                  Board.

R.I. EXAM:     Written and Practical
RENEWAL:       Annual.  Requires successful completion of Rhode
               Island approved eight hour annual review course. 

FEES:          $150 per year
