Establishes official land and water boundaries, writes
descriptions of land for deeds, leases and other legal documents
and measures construction and mineral sites.  Plans fieldwork,
selects survey reference points and determines the precise
location of natural and constructed features.

   EXPERIENCE:    Graduate of accredited four-year curriculum in
                    land surveying.
                  Pass the "fundamentals" part of examination of
                    the National Council of Engineering Examiners
                    and Surveyors (NCEES).
                Professional certificate of registration:
                  Meet requirements for Land Surveyor-in-         
                    Training.
                  Four years of combined office and field    
                    experience in land surveying projects under
                    professional supervision.
                Pass an additional exam of the NCEES.
                NOTE:  For alternate requirements, consult the
                  registering agency.
