Treats diseases or abnormalities of teeth and tissues of the
mouth. May be a general practitioner or specialize in an area
such as pediatric dentistry, orthodontics (straightening teeth)
or prosthodontics (making artificial teeth or dentures).  


AGE:              18 years or older

CITIZENSHIP:      Not required. If foreign born, must show proof
                  of legal entry into the United States. 

RESIDENCY:        No requirement

RECIPROCITY:      No EDUCATION AND     Graduate of a school of dentistry accredited
EXPERIENCE:          by the American Dental Association.
                  Pass written National Board Dental Examination
                     and Northeast Regional Board Examination
                     (NERB).
                  Be of good moral character.

R.I. EXAM:        Written and interview required if licensed
                  prior to NERB or over 5-year NERB limit.

RENEWAL:          Annual
