training of students with mental or physical disabilities.
Reviews existing programs, revises and formulates policies such
as screening, placement and education of students.

RECIPROCITY:      VariesEDUCATION AND     Three-year provisional certificate:
   EXPERIENCE:      Master's degree in special education from
                      accredited school.
                    Eligible for R. I. special education teacher
                      certification.
                    Three years teaching experience in special
                      education.
                    Nine semester hours of course work in special
                      education administration.
                  Five-year professional certificate:
                    While holding the provisional certificate,
                    complete six graduate credits in educational
                    administration and three years of experience
                    as special education administrator.
                  Professional certificate:
                    Three years experience as special education
                    administrator and fifteen semester hours of
                    graduate course work beyond that required for
                    provisional certificate.R.I. EXAM:        None
