EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES Our mission is to provide a coordinated and comprehensive system of service delivery to all our customers. In addition, the Employment and Training Division can supply employers with a well prepared work force by screening and referring qualified applicants for job openings. Our Employment resource Centers offer the convenience of "full-service one stop shopping" in a single location. Employment and training services include: EMPLOYMENT RESOURCE CENTERS (ERCs) provide a coordinated system of service delivery and a broad array of services including: employment counseling; occupational exploration; aptitude, interest and performance testing; career guidance; labor market and occupational information; job search workshops; resume writing seminars; and referrals to training programs. JOB REFERRAL AND PLACEMENT for customers who meet the requirements of the job listing. Individuals can select a position which meets their educational background and prior experience. VETERAN SERVICES are provided through specialized veteran staff. Veterans are given priority on referrals for all job orders for which they meet the specified qualifications. EMPLOYMENT/CAREER COUNSELING helps customers find a job in an occupation which best suits their interests and skills; explore new career choices or vocational changes; overcome employment barriers; and locate other occupations which utilize their skills. TESTING is available for those individuals who would like to explore a career change or assess their aptitudes and interests. CAREER GUIDANCE resource information is available. This includes labor market and occupational information; descriptions of various occupations; where the jobs are located; salary ranges and an employment outlook/forecast. JOB SEARCH WORKSHOPS are conducted on a periodic basis to assist customers in peparing to look for employment. RESUME WRITING SEMINARS are one day sessions designed to show the customer how to develop an effective resume and write an impressive cover letter, choosing from various resume designs and letter writing styles. REFERRAL TO TRAINING is based on availability of funds and the individual's eligibility for the EDWAAA, JTPA, and TAA programs. Training includes classroom and On-The-Job Training (OJT). .
