Welcome to the MOM project!

Now, what is MOM and what is this project all about?

MOM is a hand-held device a-là GameBoy Advance.
Its design is almost 100% complete and currently "exists" only under emulation.

The whole project is based on a single, simple thing: fun.
The device was basically born with that in mind: it had to be fun to program,
i.e. its power should derive from intuitiveness and flexibility, rather than
brutal hardware force.

Thus, it can be said that the project revolves around passion: passion
for slick, careful and pleasant programming - from a coder's point of view -, as
the platform naturally "inspires" clean and effective programming; and passion
for good games - from a gameplayer's viewpoint -, as the focus is shifted back
on the games themselves instead of soul-less techniques.
Well, frankly these issues depend a lot on programmers' attitude, but it seems
that the availability of big and powerful to-no-end resources somehow
"distracts" developers from the core aspect of a game, the gameplay (not to
mention that, mostly for bu$ine$$ reasons, also the craftsmanship aspect gets
somewhat neglected).

In a nutshell, MOM is an ideal platform for pleasantly developing and playing
old-style, hand-crafted (with love) games.

Now the meaning of the acronym "MOM" can be unveiled and fully comprehended;
banally, it is... My Own Machine.

 - MOS_usr.lha: MOM OS - user package

 - deMOMstration_usr.lha: MOM self-presentation - user package
 - deMOMstration_dvp.lha: MOM self-presentation - developer package
 - MEMOU_usr.lha: MOM game - user package
 - MOMiga_usr.lha: MOM emulator for Amiga - user package
 - MW_usr.lha - MOM Wrapper - user package


TO EASILY EMULATE MOM ON YOUR AMIGA:

 1. download all the user packages
 2. unpack the MW_usr.lha package
 3. unpack the other archives in the base directory of MW_usr.lha
 4. run the script "go_d" or "go_M" to run the deMOMstation or MEMOU,
    respectively

Read the guides for more information and using MOMiga at its best.

Should you experience any problem, try running the scripts after booting without
startup-sequence and launching SetPatch only (it is known that on MC68060s some
(weird combination of) patches/system settings may cause lockups).
In case the problem persists, please refer to the documentation included in
packages and make sure that everything is installed and run properly.
If no solution seems to be possible, just let me know.
