Short: IRC Client (Internet Relay Chat) Author: James Carroll Uploader: james.carroll@xtra.co.nz (James Carroll) Type: comm/irc Version: 1.9 Architecture: ppc-amigaos >= 4.0.0 Requires: OS4, BetterString.mcc, NList.mcc, NListtree.mcc Requirements ------------ WookieChat requires the following MUI Custom Classes: NList.mcc, NListtree.mcc, BetterString.mcc Get them all from OS4depot.net: http://os4depot.net/share/library/mui/mcc_betterstring.lha http://os4depot.net/share/library/mui/mcc_nlist.lha (this archive contains both Nlist and Nlisttree) What does this program do? -------------------------- It allows you to connect to Internet Relay Chat networks (IRC!) and chat with other users in a text medium in real-time. Some of the server groups are preconfigured to join an Amiga chat channel upon sucessful connection. There is some documentation now to help explain WookieChat commands, and hopefully make the program easier to understand for people new to IRC. Some WookieChat features include.. ---------------------------------- - Multiple server support - "Perform on connect" scripts - Tabs for channels and private conversations - CTCP PING, TIME, VERSION - Incoming and Outgoing DCC SEND file transfers - Colours for different events - Logging and automatic reloading of logs - mIRC colour code filters - Configurable timestamps - GUI for changing channel modes easily - Configurable highlight keywords - URL Grabber window Changes 1.9 ----------- - /invite command implemented - Incoming Channel Invite messages are displayed properly now - Sounds can be played to alert you to a new tab opening, or a highlight word appearing. It can be played always or just when the main window is inactive - /list implemented, displays a sorted list of channels on the network in its own tab. Doubleclicking will join a channel. - All displayed URL's are now saved in the URL Grabber window, and can be loaded in a browser by double clicking on it. - Channel Keyword support fixed up a little. It's now possible to change the keyword without toggling +k off first. - Choosing "Connect to Server" without first selecting an entry will no longer reaper - Bugfix: "topic set by" messages no longer create an extra blank line in the logs - Channel Keyword and Limit string gadgets are now updated when you join a channel History ------- This is a simple IRC client. The goals when I started was: 1. An OS4 native IRC client 2. in the style of mIRC (rather than AmIRC/XChat) 3. Something simple but reasonably good and free for the community 4. Reaction based Unfortunately Reaction's listbrowser class was a bit lacking so I switched to MUI which has a very nice listview class. Maintaining the 68k version was getting too problematic for various reasons, so from version 1.6 onwards WookieChat is for AmigaOS4 only. WookieChat is non-crippled shareware", which means I'll accept donations from people for the use of this program, but if you dont want to pay anything, you dont have to. The program will not be crippled in any way or require a keyfile. It's not as feature-rich as AmIRC, but its getting better and better. Visit the website at http://wookiechat.amigarevolution.com to donate! Please donate, I want money. :D~~ E-Mail: james.carroll@xtra.co.nz Thanks to --------- Thanks (which are long overdue) go to: the people on the MUI mailing list, robinc, itix, nicomen, xeron, uncharted, orgin, ook, and whoever else I've missed!! for advice and programming help.. And thanks to bobson for the logo on my website, "KensIcons" Ken for the icons, and to ajk for the original program icon. .
