I actually *learned* something from this post.

I thought that chartreuse was probably some odd shade of purplish-red.
But now I find that it is a light yellowish green (although some say it
is a greenish yellow).

Of course, it was only recently that I learned that mauve is a generic
purple with a full red presence, and royal purple is almost as blue as
violet, a spectral color, is. I had never been one much for fancy color
words, although I long knew that lavender was a bluish green.
