 don't believe in letting babies sleep in with adults.  We had a
friend of ours roll over on their infant daughter (few weeks old) and
kill her.  They are  still crazed about what happened.  Cribs were
invented for a reason.  If an older child or toddler has a bad dream
that is one thing but bringing a small baby into a bed with an adult is

dangerous.


That's actually extremely rare. Unless the parents are drunk/on drugs
or uncommonly heavy sleepers, they tend to 'know' in their sleep where
the child is.

What happened with your friends is tragic, but cribs are no guarantee
that tragedies won't  happen ... they just tend to replace one tiny
risk with another. (SIDS is almost unhead of in co-sleeping families.)
