DoveNet *IS* optional, and by default it is NOT immediately working on a fresh Synchronet system unless the sysop intentionally takes actions to enable it. And again, the sysop can remove all traces of it from their message bases with *one keypress*. >It's installed wether you like it or not. Some people don't like >IE, some people don't like Outlook, some people don't like MSN messenger, >and of course the list goes on. It's the same as that. What? It's not even remotely the same as that at all. DoveNet is not completely pre-installed, as people have told you multiple times. You must manually do several things in order to hook up DoveNet in a fresh copy of Synchronet. I repeat, IT IS NOT COMPLETELY PRE-INSTALLED. No matter what you insist, there simply is no comparable analogy to Microsoft, period. I'm tired of telling you the same thing over and over. Believe whatever you want, but the fact simply remains that DoveNet is not "auto-rammed" on anyone, and secondly most Synchronet sysops are glad that DoveNet is 95% pre-configured. You have yet to explain WHY you have this beef with DoveNet being mostly pre-configured, despite the fact that I have asked you this question several times. I'm guessing that I know the reason already, but, I would like to hear what you say first, before posting my assumption. .
