Reliability is another key factor in terminal choice though. One of the key things Zoc has (at least if you're careful with which release you run) is that it never crashes/GPFs/closes unexpectedly, and, if a script ran successfully yesterday, then it will today [Zoc does actually have a few gremlins, but they tend not to get one killed in tw]. Swath's still a handful of bug fixes away from that. Dr. Bad >From a message by macahan about Re: 1/2 on Topic: > Or use SWATH and write scripts in a full flexed language like java. ;P DB> Its also a bit of a blight on the scriptable telnet packages out there. Whilst there are some shortcomings of REXX (e.g. only token multiple source file support) most of the other comms packages DB> around are worse still. Hyperaccess supports vb but is almost entirely a bug. Tera-term's language is more limited than REXX, and has problems on win2k. A few of the older progs have pretty DB> semi-decent languages (richer than zoc/rexx anyhow), but they're typically unsupported with no continuing development, who knows whether they will work with newer OS's, and/or have weird timing DB> delays because of having to run through various compatibility layers.
