AFAIK, Linux, BSD, etc... are all originally based on Unix :-)

So was DOS for that mater. I think DOS was basically like "Unix for Dummies" 
lol :-)

DOS is the only command prompt OS (that I know of) besides Linux, Unix, BSD, 
etc... type OS's.
