Subj : Market Action To : All From : Paul Rogers Date : Thu Oct 23 2003 06:59 pm
This is it! I've been waiting for the mutual fund managers to do their
thing. There's a week left. What do I see? Ignore the price action.
Yesterday's NYSE volume was +20% above average, today's was +18%. Who's
got that much stock to move on the market. It ain't Main Street!
If I'm right volume for the next week should be well above average. The
price action will probably sink for stocks that are out of favor with
the mutual fund managers. Watch your stocks! If they begin to sink,
PULL THE TRIGGER! Don't wait for them to fall 7% below your purchase
price to sell, the 7% Solution. If the mutual fund managers don't want
them, neither do you. You need them wanting your stock to create the
demand that drives prices higher. You do want the price to go higher,
don't you? If you're going to commit money to stocks, then you want to
buy stocks that are going to be moving up in price on higher volume.
Bargain hunting isn't going to work. Keep your stocks that go higher on
higher volume.
Investors always want to know what to invest in--this is the best
indication you're going to get. Most of the year they have more time
and sophisticated techniques for "covering their tracks." This is like
a migration of the big herds in Africa--when that many animals get
moving that fast they can't hide their tracks.
PAY ATTENTION!

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
Last Signal: Buy Date: 10/01/03 S&P: 1018
