Why do you think it is broken? What does not work?
I am one of the guys who wrote the runtime library for VP (I am no longer 
working on it) and I am pretty sure that findfirst/next did work.
Have you sent a bug report to Allan Mertner yet? Write to vpascal@vpascal.com 
and send him an example. If it is a bug, I am sure he will fix it immediately.
