Subj : Help with a little project... To : Sean Dennis From : Dan Egli Date : Sat Apr 03 2004 11:15 am -=> Quoting Sean Dennis to All <=- SD> What I'm trying to figure out (and here's where my poor math skills SD> come into play) is how I can take a score on a fourteen-question test SD> and compute it so I can get a percentage from 0 to 100 and put it SD> against a grading scale for a letter grade. For some reason, this SD> escapes me. Ok. Your Percentage is: (Num Right/14)*100 I.e. (10/14)*100. Rounded to the nearest 10th of a %, that's 71.5% Now assign a upper and lower boundry to each grade. For example: A=100%-85% B=84%-70% etc..... then it's just a simple nested if else statement set. if (Grade > GRADE_A) then .... else if (GRADE > GRADE_B) then .... else ...... where GRADE_A and GRADE_B are constants (or variables) containing the lower boundry for each grade. Hope that helps you! -+- Dan --- BBBS/LiI v4.01 Flag-5 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) .
