Admitted we were powerless over books, and that our shelf space had become unmanageable. 2. Came to believe that a bookstore larger than some small countries could restore us to sanity. 3. Made a decision to turn our will and about half our annual income over to Barnes and Noble as we understood it. 4. Made a searching and fearless inventory of Amazon.com. 5. Admitted to the Goddess, to ourselves and to the bank that we were now criminally overdrawn. 6. Were entirely ready to have bookstores remove all our cash. 7. Humbly asked them if they took Visa. 8. Made a list of all books we had spilled coffee on, and became willing to replace them all. 9. Made direct replacement of such books, except when to do so would keep us from being able to afford that cool new book on early Croatian magick. 10. Continued to take inventory of Amazon.com, and when it cost too much, promptly joined QPB (four books, four bucks, no kidding). 11. Sought through shopping and drooling to fulfill our lust for Book Heaven as we understood it, seeking only knowledge of its whereabouts and the cash to go nuts in it. 12. Having been awake all night as a result of reading all those books, we tried to shovel a spot off the bed to sleep on, and to practice reading in our sleep till we never actually had to stop.
