Subj : I think things have gone To : MICHAEL GOTHREAU From : PETER BRADIE Date : Sat Oct 26 2002 02:38 pm MG> Hello All, MG> Wayne Chirnside is a user of Fidonet. MG> Recently, Wayne got drunk and invited his neighbour and antogonist, Ed Koon, to MG> visit Wayne's home so he could kill him. Posts to that effect were made in MG> HOLYSMOKE and in MATZDOBRE. MG> Ed Koon refused to call the police. Chirnside removed himself from HOLYSMOKE. MG> Chirnside enterred the POLITICS echo and attempted to have normal discussions MG> there. MG> Stan Hardegree, a point off of Dale Ross announced that Dale Ross had removed MG> POL_INC from his system because POL_INC did not ban Wayne Chirnside. Wayne MG> Chirnside made no threats in POL_INC. Stan posted his fear that Dale Ross MG> would remove POLITICS if that echo harboured him. MG> Now, Gary Braswell has banned Wayne Chirnside from POLITICS, giving NO reason. MG> The reason is Stan Hardegree, and more to the point, Dale Ross. Who died and MG> made this guy King? MG> Anyone else feel that this is not good or fair? MG> IMHO, we should all post our displeasure at this action. MG> If the victim of the crime, Ed Koon, did not feel the threat was serious enough MG> to cut Wayne out and have him charged, then not one of us has a right to judge MG> him further, until he breaks the rules in one of our echoes. Am I right? Looking at it from a purely legal slant, cutting someone from an echo should be because they have done wrong in that echo. Since Wayne removed himself from HOLYSMOKE where the bad behaviour occurred, it would be improper to remove him from echos where he's behaving himself. --- þ MM 1.1 #0381 þ Give pizza chants.
