That's nothing new; I remember wondering what happend to scenes I recall
from first-run episodes of some of my favorite TV shows (when I was young),
and noticing something missing.  Later, upon renting to evaluate before
buying them, I suddenly feel a /frisson/ when they appear in the
original-length episode.

Damned networks and stations kept cutting them to get in more advertising,
I learned later.
