Subj : Texas Rangers To : Steve Quarrella From : Joe Siegler Date : Wed Feb 28 2001 10:21 am -> At my first game ever at Arlington, we weren't there five minutes out there -> in right field, and Canseco had a ball plop out of his glove. If we had -> been there when the ball hit him on the head and bounced into the stands -- -> ISTR that had happened just a few nights before -- I'd have been hysterical. Well, you and I attended two Rangers games at Arlington Stadium in 1993. I don't have any memories of the games other than benches, benches, and more benches. :) Don't remember players, although I can look up rosters and see who was there. I don't suppose you remember either of the dates we went, do you Steve? I mean down to the Month and day? -> I heard a funny term today: "A-Wad." With the big Juwan Howard deal over -> in the NBA, there's a lot of talk about something being in the water in -> Texas regarding big salaries. :-) I heard A-Wad the day after he signed. Still funny. The way I look at that is this. My personal comprehension of money and my own salary is so microscopic to what baseball salaries are, it doesn't bother me. Whehter they make half a mil, 1 mil, 2 mil, 5 mil, 10 mil, 20 mil, 50 mil, or 100 mil a year - it's all monopoly money to me. Sure they're millioniares - duh. Who doesn't know that? I care about the game on the field - not the dough they get paid. Eventually, it'll get to the point where I'll have to stay home to enjoy the games - when it comes to that point, it'll just be more money in my own pocket. I love the game - I can seperate the biz vs the game portions of being a fan. Most people can't. Joe --- QScan/PCB v1.20a / 02-5150 * Origin: The Arsenal of Freedom - From the land of ARod!
