Subj : Printing solution To : All From : richardw Date : Tue Jul 19 2005 10:42 am We have a printer connected to an AS/400 via a Praim interface box. This printer is used to print bar codes on two different types of media. It prints barcodes on sticky labels which are scanned by salesmen at the POS. It also prints barcodes on perforated cardstock, which are hang-tags for apparel. The printer includes a 2000 sheet feeder, and a 2000 sheet stacker for our voluminous application. It's design incorporates a straight paper path from feeding to finished and stacked. The model we are currently using is a Kyocera FS-3700+. This printing system is 7 years old, and we are looking to replace it. The thing is, even when it was new, it has never performed flawlessly. There was always the occasional paper jam, etc... In trying to find a replacement, I have had little success. I cannot find anything with that kind of capacity that incorporates a straight paper path, and is rated for 110lb stock or greater. Is anyone else doing anything like this, or have any suggestions? The solution we are using now runs around $3000, which is quite cheap for what it does. We are not against spending more, if it's a proven better solution. Thanks in advance! Richard --- þ Synchronet þ Eleemosynary ELF - eelf.richardw.net .
