Otherwise you could build a wire beam quite easily. Not steerable, of course... Most way-out antenna I ever saw was a big axial-mode helix for 10 meter CW. The diameter of the helix was something like 12 feet! The reflector was a big sheet of chicken wire, and the entire thing was supported by a rope, with the top of each turn of the helix hanging from it. :-) --- þ Synchronet þ CQ DX!
