---------------- | Gopher-HOWTO | ---------------- Well, here I want to explain how one can build up documents for the gopherspace. What do I need to gopher? ------------------------- 1) A running gopher-server 2) A gopher client 3) A simple editor (like EMACS :) 4) Ideas what to write to 1): A running gopher-server is truely a must to check your own pages, because most of the providers do not offer a running gopher. So if you have a gopher-server you can write pages for your gopherspace :) Maybe you have a permanent internet-connection then you should be lucky: you can open your gopherspace to other gopherians :) to 2): First a normal web-browser does good work (like lynx or the Netscape Navigator). Sure, you know this otherwise you were not able to read this document :) Btw: The Internet Explorer is a thing for your trashbin if you want to wander through gopherspace. It crashes, hangs and does a lot of other funny stuff (which is quite normal for Microsoft products). So donīt wonder :) to 3): An editor is a wonderful thing! You _really_ can write your gopher-files with such a magic thing :) You see: gopher-files are pure textfiles! Just write them down, save them with a beautiful name and that's it. to 4): Hey, buddy :) ! I cannot give any hints because I myself donīt have any either :) .
