From: jedavis@ucdavis.edu (James Davis) Date: Mon, 16 Sep 91 20:19:11 PDT Following are those scripts I promised a while back over info-mac. I did my best to clean things up and add notes. The file is ftpscripts.tar.Z.uu so you'll have to take the appropriate steps undo-ing it. These scripts are all unix, mostly csh. A very brief synopsis follows. Feel free to mail questions. Hopefully it should set itself up, but there are lots of interelations between parts, so lots of things could break. 1) ftpmenu - a curses based C program that will let you use menu's to access your favorite ftp site. It has to be pre-configured but once you hae it going, its a fast way to retrieve a file. Oh did I mention that while browsing these menus, the appropriate abstract is only a key click away. 2) a couple of small scripts that let you quickly check whats new at your favorite sites, without ftp-ing and looking in eery directory. Not really applicable to sumex, since info-mac tells whats new. 3) a system of scripts, that will mirror the last few days of sumex into a local directory. If you like to look at everything new, this will leave it at your doorstep. 4) a couple of other small things that make ftp life easier. Hope they are useful to someone besides me.
