It provides a Finder-like link to the range of Internet Gopher services. *** NOTICE: This is an early, unfinished version of the program. It will fail in various ways. GopherApp is being written by Don Gilbert, using the MacApp extensible Macintosh programming framework from Apple Computer. It is actually a subset of a biosequence analysis program called SeqApp. To use GopherApp, your Mac must have a network connection to the Internet, and it must have MacTCP installed and operating (as with NCSA Telnet, Eudora, network news and similar MacTCP-based Internet programs). You may now obtain this release thru anonymous ftp to ftp.bio.indiana.edu, in folder /util/gopher/gopherapp, as gopherapp.hqx. You may also obtain updates directly thru an internet-connected Mac using Gopher to this same IUBio archive (host=ftp.bio..,port=70). Look for a folder called "IUBio Software+Data/GopherApp, Mac Gopher client". This release of GopherApp has been tested and works (at least basically) on Mac SE, Mac SE/30, Mac II class, Mac Quadra models, with System 7 and System 6 software.
