NICKNAMES WITH OPTION-SPACE ON POWER MACINTOSH COMPUTERS If you have made nicknames with the option-space character embedded in the nickname itself, The fat or PPC version of Eudora running on a PowerMac will misinterpret your nicknames file. If you modify your nicknames in this situation, the option-spaces will be replaced with regular spaces. This will be bad. Workarounds: - Open your Eudora Nicknames file with a text editor, and replace all occurrences of option-space with "_". or - Use the 68K version of Eudora, which doesn't have the problem. or - Stick with Eudora 1.5.2/2.1.2 If your nicknames file has already been damaged, you should restore from a backup. APPLE EVENT/APPLESCRIPT "GET BODY OF" ERROR Using Apple Events or AppleScript to fetch the body of a composition window will eventually cause a crash. A fragment like: get body of message 1 of mailbox "out" will be affected. Only getting the body of a composition window is affected. Setting the body is fine, as is getting the body of an incoming message. Workarounds: - Get the whole message, not just the body: get message 1 of mailbox "out" or - Stick with Eudora 1.5.2/2.1.2 These bugs will be fixed in a maintenance release. Date of the release is not yet determined. -- Steve Dorner, Qualcomm Incorporated "Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. ... He had won the victory over himself.
