--========================_17621424==_ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" We think there is some possiblity that you have been using the Macintosh program Eudora over a telephone connection to our pop server popmail.ucsd.edu. If you're not using Eudora or not calling in with a telephone, you can discard this message. Starting tomorrow morning there will be a change in dialin procedures that requires an update to Eudora so that it can send your dialin user name and password when you log in. That update is attached to this message as a file called "Eudora UCSD CTB" which you must move to the proper place in your system folder. To do that: 1) Quit Eudora if it is already running. 2) Find the file "Eudora UCSD CTB" that arrived with this message. Eudora will have saved it in the folder listed as the place to "Automatically save attachments to" in the Special menu Configuration command. If no location is specified there, it will be in the Eudora folder in your System Folder. 3) If you are running Apple System 6, drag "Eudora UCSD CTB" onto the System Folder. You may get a dialog that says that there is already an older file with that name; click the OK button. 4) If you are running Apple System 7, open the System Folder and find the Preferences folder. Drag "Eudora UCSD CTB" on top of it. You may get a dialog that says that there is already an older file with that name; click the OK button. 5) Start Eudora. It will probably complain that you need to define a dialup username. Click the Cancel button to get rid of the complaint. 6) From the Special menu, choose Configuration and enter your UCSD mailname in the Dialup Username field. Click the OK button. 7) Choose Check Mail from the File menu. Eudora will ask for your Dialup password. Enter your UCSD Mailname password. Eudora should proceed normally from now on. The latest public versions of Eudora are 1.3.1 for System 6 Users and 1.4 for System 7 users. If you don't have these, you may want to get them from us. Bring a disk to 1313 AP&M or send a mail message and we'll return a copy by mail. If you have problems with this procedure, call us at 534-1857.
