                 System 7.5 - Pricing and Availablity

On 2-August-94, Apple Computer, Inc. announced that System 7.5 for
Macintosh will be offered on 1.4MB disks and on CD-ROM discs.  Apple
expects to make it available on 800K disks at a later date.  Apple
announced additional features to be included with System 7.5 as well
as the contents of the System 7.5 CD-ROM disc.


                         ADDITIONAL FEATURES
- Apple announced that the latest version of QuickTime (2.0) would be
  included with System 7.5.


                         CD-ROM DISC CONTENTS

Customers who purchase the CD-ROM version of Macintosh System 7.5 will
receive additional third-party software that takes advantage of specific
Macintosh System 7.5 capabilities including the following:

- MacLinkPlus translators from DataViz, Inc. work with Macintosh Easy Open
to give users double-click translation and access to documents created by
applications not installed on their computer.

- Two QuickDraw GX printing extensions from Peirce Software, Inc., Paper
Saver and Watermark,  are included and let users customize their printer
output.

- The CD also includes two PowerTalk PMSAMs (Personal Messaging Service
Access Modules) which provide access to messaging services. A PMSAM from
STF Technologies, Inc. enables users to send and receive faxes from within
the PowerTalk universal mailbox and software from Ex Machina, Inc. lets
users send and receive pager messages from within the universal mailbox.  

- The CD-ROM will also contain sixty-day trial versions of software from
StarNine Technologies, Inc., which will let customers exchange e-mail
messages with users of QuickMail and the Internet.

The additional third-party software on the CD-ROM disc version is not
included with the 1.4MB floppy disk version and is not available separately.

Some additional hardware/software is necessary to take advantage of the
third-party software included on the CD-ROM. The PowerTalk PMSAMs require
a fax modem and pager service; the StarNine software requires QuickMail
and a connection to the Internet.
