DIRECTORIES ================================================================== access Contains ASCII-format versions of the NCSA general information magazine access. AFS Contains the AFS User's Guide in postscript and ASCII versions. CM_Guide Contains the NCSA Connection Machine User Guide for the CM-5 and CM-2 in asicc and postscript versions. ConvexGuide Contains the NCSA CONVEX C3880 User's Guide in ASCII and postscript. datalink Contains files for the NCSA technical newsletter data link. Each year is contained in a separate directory. data link ceased publication in 1993 with the April issue. INCOMING This directory is for files that are intended for the NCSA Publications Group. The Andrew File System (AFS) permissions have restricted this directory to accept incoming files but the files, once placed, cannot be retrieved. Please DO NOT use this directory for archiving files. They will be deleted! If you place a file in this directory, please email the appropriate NCSA Publications staff member that the file is now available. If you are not sure of the person's email, you may send email to pubs@ncsa.uiuc.edu but this alias is not monitored on a daily basis. Thanks. InfoPacket93 Contains ASCII versions of the 1993 informational packets. Metacenterdir Lists various announcements about the National Metacenter for Computational Science and Engineering. NCSA is one of four members of the national Metacenter. Misc Contains other documents of interest to users, such as a list of the NCSA Academic Affiliates. Please change to this subdirectory to review the contents. NOTE: The Cray Research Inc. research and development program has an extended deadline. Download the PostScript file with the program information from this directory. New deadline: APRIL 1, 1994 NSFinformation Contains information pertaining to the National Science Foundation and its programs. ReferenceCard Contains the file for the NCSA UNIX System Reference Card, a card intended to supplement UNIX reference cards available through various vendors. The NCSA UNIX System Reference Card provides information about commonly used commands as implemented on NCSA high-performance computing systems. ResBiblio NCSA seeks submissions from researchers for an NCSA Research Bibliography. This directory includes an online form that lists the information needed from researchers for inclusion in the database used to produce the bibliography. Another file, fieldofscience, provides the NSF codes used in the NCSA database for categorizing the submissions. Please refer to this file if you are not fimiliar with the NSF fields of science. preprints NCSA produces a preprint and reprint series, which is available to the general public (see ORDERING INFORMATION below). Authors may choose to provide Publications with files for posting to the FTP server in this directory. File formats vary; refer to the file extension for information about the format. startup Contains the files for the NCSA Startup Package, including the programmer's reference manual and the user's guide. SystemIntro Contains the file for the NCSA Systems Introduction, a general information reference describing the various high-performance computing systems available at NCSA. Includes descriptions of NCSA policies and guidelines as well as consulting and information resources and applying for time. UniTree contains the ASCII and postscript version of the User's Guide to the NCSA UniTree Archival System.
